Born into a family of hairstylists, hair designing is a natural talent for Jessie. Education is her utmost priority. She has traveled to take classes from several world renowned stylists, always keeping up with the lastest trends and techniques. Building relationships and clear communication is a passion Jessie strives to achieve each day with her guests. She views each one as a unique individual and works towards bringing out confidence through enhancing their outer beauty.

Education and certifications: Redken color and know why at the Redken Exchange, Redken the perfect blonde, Redken Color Correction, certified keratinologist and extension specialist. Jessie specializes in balayage, baby lights, updos, makeup and total transformations. “I enjoy the creative side of being a stylist. My favorite part of this job is making people feel beautiful and loved every day.

I grew up in a small town in Mid Michigan. There I attended beauty school while in high school and became a licensed cosmetologist in 2014. I gained experience as a stylist, working in salons while attending Central Michigan University. Once I graduated I decided to change careers and accepted a professional office job. However, I quickly discovered that I was not meant to sit behind a desk all day. I missed the personal connections I had with my clients and knew that serving others and helping them feel like their most beautiful selves is truly my calling. 

Building trust with each and every one of my clients is always my top priority as a stylist. I do this in several different ways. I’m always educating myself, so clients can feel confident in my ability to keep up with the latest trends and techniques. I also provide a listening ear throughout the whole service beginning to end. Our hair is a huge part of our identity and with that comes a lot of emotions so I always ensure we’re on the same page and have the same goal in mind!  

 I love to emphasize natural beauty through effortless looks like dimensional sunkissed color & textured layered cuts. My favorite techniques are foilayage, babylights, & teasylights. I also specialize bridal & formal styling.  

Its always been a dream of mine to move somewhere warm and full of sunshine so I couldn’t have been more excited for the opportunity to move to this beautiful state and be a part of the Southern Roots Team! 

My vibe is chill and happy. Kindness matters … I love to make people happy. What makes me unique is I listen to your needs and take them to heart. Striving to deliver the very best result. Having always had a passion for learning new techniques, I take pride in perfecting my craft. I use the best products and study with the best educators in my field. Hi and thank you for your interest! My name is Erica “B” McKenney and I’m a Florida native. I’ve been in the industry 10 + years and I love what I do.

My goal is to make every guest that sits in my chair look and feel beautiful from the inside out. I look forward to working together as a team to get you to your desired end result. 

Some of my specialties include wedding/special occasion hair, airbrush makeup, classic & volume eyelash extensions, hair coloring, balayage, cutting and styling.

I love to keep educating myself with the latest styles & trends to keep my guests current and up to date.  

Just a little about myself, I grew up in the hair and makeup world by being on a dancing competition team, which led me to become an NFL cheerleader. Since then, hair and makeup have become my passion and I love everything about it.

I have been a Hairstylist for 27 years and am native to the Tampa Bay area. In my earlier years as a stylist I was fortunate to apprentice under a few local hair stylists from Vidal Sasson and Hollywood. I then went forward to become certified as a master colorist for Lore’al Professional.  I love creating new hair styles through dimensional hi-lighting, low-lighting, baby lights, teasey lights, balayage, foliage,  shadow root melt, gloss color and more. My clientele is passionately based on building relationships through listening and creating custom hair styles per individual.

At the end of each day I feel it is a blessing to be a part of helping my clients feel their best!  My goal is to never stop learning!!
